The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are laid bare in a massive leak from a UK retailer

Google may have finally confirmed the October 19th launch date for the Pixel 6 series but that doesn’t mean that the leaks have to stop. Indeed, a UK retailer prematurely posted the listing pages for both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro over the weekend, revealing and confirming almost everything you might want to know about Google’s new smartphones, including the presence of 30W wired charging on both models.

The UK retailer in question is Carphone Warehouse whose premature listings for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro were spotted by the eagle-eyed leakster, Evan Blass.

We’ve embedded the images from the listings in the slideshows above, but in a nutshell, the leaked overviews reveal the following:

    Table of Contents

    General

    • Both phones will naturally launch running Android 12
    • As previously confirmed by Google, both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are powered by the new Tensor processor and feature the next-gen Titan m2 security chip
    • Google says the Tensor chip offers “up to 80% faster performance”
    • The Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch Smooth display with an adjustable refresh rate and high brightness mode
    • The Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.7-inch LTPO display with an adaptable refresh rate from 10-120Hz
    • IP68 Water and Dust protection for both models
    • 30W Wired charging
    • Five years of security updates
    • Offline translation in 55 languages
    • Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on both phones
    • The new Pixel Stand is “twice as powerful” as its predecessor

    Cameras

    • Both models sport a 50MP main camera with a 48MP telephoto lens with the Pixel 6 Pro featuring an additional 12MP ultra-wide-lens
    • The 50MP main sensor will allow 150% more light to be captured than the module on the Pixel 5
    • Face Unblur will help ‘unblur’ faces in photos while Motion Mode helps you catch action shots in “full-motion”
    • The Pixel 6 Pro’s selfie camera has a Field-of-View of 94°

Worthy of its own little blurb is the presence of the long-anticipated Magic Eraser feature that will let users automatically remove unwanted objects from photos, a function that has often been teased by Google. One other tidbit is the likelihood of Google announced a “Pixel Pass” that will apparently cater to users’ needs, in a similar vein to the Apple One product.

All we need now is for the US prices for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro to be discovered and we are almost set for lift-off.
