Samsung Is Expected To Make Some More Camera Improvements In April
The camera experience on the Samsung Galaxy S24 devices is far from bad. Still, so soon after launch, users were able to spot how rough the photography performance was around the edges. The good thing was that Samsung eventually pushed out fixes for many of these issues that people had complained about.
The thing is, they didn’t knock out every single gripe, with some users complaining of yellow tint in some photos and degraded image quality when using a telephoto lens. Thankfully, Ice Universe on X, a reliable tipster, has said that the April update for the S24 will bring a “white balance and telephoto image quality” fix.
Hopefully, these won’t be the only significant changes that April’s software update will bring, especially as users have been facing many issues. I’m also hoping that the camera fixes won’t be limited to the Ultra model since the whole S24 series could still benefit from some camera fixes.
The February Camera Update Brought A Lot Of Improvements
Samsung’s update for the S24 series in February brought many much-needed fixes for the camera experience of their new smartphones. Some of those improvements targeted all the devices in the series, while some were specifically for the S24 Ultra (unsurprising since it’s the only one with a distinct camera setup).
The general fixes included better colors in Food Mode, improved white balance and saturation in Night Mode, and better images against strong backing lights. The S24 Ultra received more individual improvements, though, including better text quality when using telephoto lenses, better quality for video recordings, and improved picture quality for subjects in a photo.
Overall, the update quieted many camera-related complaints, though not all of them have been sorted out.
When Can We Expect The Big April Update To Land?
The easy answer is, obviously, in April. Of course, I’m just kidding, but it may be a little tricky to predict for sure. My best bet will be in very early April—the first week, to be exact. The March update wasted no time to roll out, as people started to get it on March 1st. However, that was just a security update, and the big camera update came in mid-February.
However, that was less than a month after the phone was released, so it really couldn’t have come any faster. So again, keep your eyes on that first week of April. By then, we’ll have more info on what the update will come with.
