The Tube T31 compact SSD made by SK Hynix is now on sale at a much lower price than usual. This flash drive-sized SSD is now just $59.98 on Amazon, about 25% off the regular $139.99 price.
Despite its tiny size, the SK Hynix Tube T31 is quite powerful. It comes with DRAM inside, which helps it reach its data transfer speeds of up to 1000MB/s (1Gbps). This will make backups and file transfers fast and efficient. It’s also helped by the USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 support, using a typical USB Type-A connector. If you have a PC that only has Type-C ports, you’ll need a hub or adapter.
These include computers running Windows 10/11 and macOS and gaming consoles like the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. However, it’s worth noting that while the drive works with these consoles, they don’t allow games to be installed directly on external drives like this one. Instead, the SSD is mostly useful for storing data and moving files between devices. Depending on the game and console, you might be able to move unplayed games to the external storage, then move them back when you’re ready to play them. The transfer speeds might be slow for moving larger games, though.
