We already know that it’s going to be launched in China on December 4th and thanks to a few leaked images, we have a good idea on its design. Now we have official confirmation of the OnePlus 12’s outward appearance and can we say right here that we are looking forward to seeing it in person.

Instead of reinventing the wheel, the OnePlus 12 offers a refinement of the OnePlus 11 5G’s aesthetic, with one of the more noticeable differences being the location of the flash module which now sits outside the circular camera housing.

The other main difference is the the relocation of the famed alert slider. Instead of sitting above the power and volume rocker on the right edge of the phone, the alert slider is now present on the left side. This isn’t done on a whim, OnePlus states that it has been moved in order to allowe for better gaming antennas to be deployed on its latest powerhouse.

“OnePlus utilizes Ultra-compact Full-band Antenna technology and industry-first Alert Slider Antenna Integration technology to minimize the space occupied by the Alert Slider to the greatest extent possible. As a result, a balance between better antenna signal performance and the presence of the Alert Slider is achieved on the OnePlus 12. According to the lab test data by OnePlus, the gaming antenna signal can be improved by 3dB, with the game latency reduced by 15%.”

As with its predecessor, the OnePlus 12 will once again be available in a Flowy Emerald colorway. According to the PR blurb, we can expect the OnePlus 12 to benefit from Hasselblad tuning along with a periscope telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom.

We’ll find out more on the OnePlus 12 during the official launch in China on December 4th but in the meantime, what are your thoughts on the new location of the alert slider?
