This is when your OPPO and OnePlus smartphone will get the ColorOS 12 update

    ColorOS 12

OPPO has unveiled ColorOS 12 which is expected to roll out to as many as 110 models in the coming months, bringing an all-new UI called “Infinite Design” that promises to be less cluttered than ever before. Currently based on the Android 12 Developer Preview build and already released in China for the Find X3 Pro and OnePlus 9 series, ColorOS 12 will launch globally soon.

Unlike the Find X3 Pro beta that became available back in May that was based on ColorOS 11, this new build is built-upon ColorOS 12 although it’s still aimed at developers and enthusiasts for the time being. The new UI brings more than 300 new animations using OPPO’s “Quantum Animation Engine” to make UI interactions more realistic and slicker.

ColorOS 12 boasts a new avatar emoji feature called “Omoji” which uses the advanced Face Capture algorithm to build high-precision 3D models via the capture of more than 20,000 key face markers in order to produce a lifelike avatar. The Omoji will mimic users’ expressions in real-time and you’ll be able to customize things like skin tones, accessories, eyes, ears, and more.

New features such as FelxDrop let users use gestures to drag an app and switch between small, mini, and full-screen windows. Cross-Screen Interconnection lets users interact with their phones via their Windows 10 laptops with file transfer speeds of 45Mbps.

He’s been an Android fan ever since owning an HTC Hero, with the Dell Streak being his first phablet. He currently carries a OnePlus Nord 2 5G in his pockets, a Galaxy Tab S6 in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world.
