If you’re like me, you love having a quality Bluetooth speaker to play tunes by the pool or take on all of your summer adventures. If you need a new one, Amazon has discounted the Sony SRS-XG300 Bluetooth speaker by 58%, saving you over $200 on an excellent speaker.
The Sony XG300 was released a few years ago, but it’s a rugged and water-resistant Bluetooth party speaker with a lot to like. It’s a bit smaller than the popular XG500, but that just means it’s more portable and perfect for camping or sitting by the pool. In fact, it’s one of our favorite Bluetooth speakers and is worth buying. Here’s what you need to know.

Sony SRS-XG300 X-Series Wireless Speaker
This wireless speaker is an impressive, portable, sweet-sounding addition to your life.
Sony’s SRS-XG300 has a large tapered cylinder shape, similar to most portable speakers or a boombox. Owners will love the tough yet retractable handle, Mega Bass mode, ClearAudio+, and I particularly love the Echo Noise Canceling mode to improve phone calls. Yes, it’ll pause the music and cut out background noise so you can take a call right from the speaker.
On the inside, all those room-filling sounds come from two X-balanced speakers, dual tweeters, and two large passive radiators to help deliver crisp sound and decent bass. Remember that just because the speaker can get that loud doesn’t mean everyone in the park or on a hiking trail wants to hear it. Be considerate of your surroundings, then let the Sony XG300 bump.
Additionally, Sony added a water-repellent mesh around the entire speaker to help with splashes, making it IP67-rated. That water-repellant mesh covers some built-in LEDs, too, which you can turn on to set the vibe at a campsite. It even has an “Ambient Illumination” feature where the LEDs will synchronize to your music. You can also adjust the LED lights (and equalizer sound) with the Sony Music Center app.

This speaker comes equipped with a large handle that you’ll love, making it easy to carry around while blasting tunes for up to 25 hours with the built-in battery. Then, like many BT speakers lately, when the battery gets low, you can use the USB-C fast charging port to get 70 minutes of playback after just 10 minutes on the charger.
The front of the device has all the controls in a spot that’s easily visible, read, and found. On the left, you’ll see the power button, BT pairing, and the Mega Bass button to kick things up a notch. The right side houses the pause/play button (which can answer or end phone calls) along with the volume controls near the end.

I’ve used this exact speaker for nearly two years and absolutely love it. I’ve taken it camping, down rivers, or in the backyard while working on a new patio deck. This is worth considering if you want a solid speaker without spending $300.
