today’s best MacBook Pro M3 deals, iPad, and more 9to5Mac

Happy iPad launch day folks! While much of the early pre-order deals we have tracked on the M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air have faded (some are still live though!), today’s deals focus on Apple’s latest MacBooks and the venerable iPad mini 6. The 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro with 18GB of memory is nearly $250 off, the mid-range 15-inch M3 MacBook Air is $100 off, and you’ll find some solid deals on upgraded iPad mini 6 configurations too. Head below for a closer look at today’s 9to5Toys Lunch Break.

Apple’s 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro with 18GB of memory nearly $250 off

While we did track some notable deals on the 14-inch M3 Pro MacBook last week, Amazon is stepping in today with a solid discount on Apple’s latest 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro. Regularly $2,499, you’ll know find the Silver and Space Black model starting from $2,249.99 shipped. That’s nearly $250 off the going rate and matching our previous mention on the most affordable current-generation 16-inch form-factor. It is currently selling at $2,299 over at Best Buy, for comparison. Having said that, this is not one of those 8GB Apple laptops – it has 18GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD inside. Check out our hands-on look  too.

The 256GB iPad mini 6 now $109 off

While Apple’s M4 iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air are set for delivery today, and available for in-store pickup right now in most places, those not sold on the new pricey Apple tablets will want to check out this deal on the upgraded, current-generation Apple iPad mini instead. Amazon is now offering the iPad mini 6 with the elevated 256GB of storage starting from $539.99 shipped in all four colorways. Be sure to clip the on-page coupons. This configuration will run you $649 straight from Apple and over at Best Buy right now. We are indeed still seeing the entry-level 64GB variant at the same $400 we have been tracking on and off for a while a now, but the 256GB model is now $10 under our previous mention and at the lowest we can find.

Apple’s new mid-range 15-inch M3 MacBook Air $100 off

While the $150 price drops on the entry-level 13-inch model and the top-of-the-line 15-inch variant have now jumped up $50, those looking to land somewhere in the middle can now score Apple’s latest M3 15-inch MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for $1,399 shipped. This is a straight up $100 price drop and the lowest price we can find. Only the Midnight model has ever sold for less at Amazon – it was $10 less for a short while – with today’s offer splitting the different on the far more more pricey 16GB 15-inch and the entry-level configuration.

While you can still score the 16GB/1TB previous-generation 15-inch M2 MacBook Air down at $1,499 right now – still a great option if you ask me, those looking to upgrade to the latest in (MacBook) Apple silicon might want to consider the new M3 model.

Apple Pencil 2 down at $79 after debut of new Pro model (Reg. $129), more

Apple’s Let Loose event has come and gone now, with the unveil of the new iPad Air and Pro lineups as well as the expected new Apple Pencil Pro – all of the details on all of it are waiting for you on 9to5Mac, of course. But with the announcement of Apple’s new flagship digital writing stylus, Amazon and Best Buy are now clearing out the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen at $79 shipped. While you’ll need to purchase the new Apple Pencil Pro for use with Apple’s just announced new M4 iPad Pro or iPad Air lineup, folks sticking with their current Apple tablet can score a deep deal on the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen – it remains in the current-generation lineup with a regular $129 price tag by the way.

But all of this also means that it appears the latest Apple Pencil with USB-C will indeed work with the new iPad Pros (due to its wired connectivity). It also happens to be sitting at the $69 Amazon low right now, or nearly 15% off the going rate.
