TP-Link announced the Archer AX6600 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 Gaming Router today, also known as the Archer GX90. It includes several features to ensure a speedy connection for gaming, including Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6, a dedicated gaming band, and a built-in game accelerator.
The router has a suggested retail price of $300 but is on sale for $271 on Amazon. It will start shipping on September 22, 2021. We’ll have to get our hands on the router for complete testing, but based solely on its specs, it looks to compete with the best gaming routers.
The three bands of the router combine for a data transfer rate of up to 6,579 Mbps. The router also features enhanced OFDMA to reduce latency and improve throughput. The Archer GX90 utilizes 4T4R and HE160 technology to deliver speeds up to 4,804 Mbps through its dedicated gaming band.
The router has a built-in game accelerator that detects and optimizes game streams automatically. It also provides real-time game statistics, including game duration, system utilization, and real-time latency.
The Archer GX90 features a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, a 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, and eight high-performing antennas.
