You won’t find plastic in the casing, so it’s not ruining the sound quality. Getting Started

The Trettitre TreSound1 Bluetooth Speaker comes well packaged and getting the approximately 18 lb. speaker out of the box is a bit of a challenge on your own, but it’s a magnificent piece of art once you do. It comes with a soft slipcover already over it. It’s easy to remove but stays in place when the speaker is not in use.

In addition to the speaker itself, you get the power adapter, user manual, and a 3.5-inch auxiliary cable for direct connections.

Getting started only takes seconds. Just plug in the power adapter and twist the knob slightly at the top to turn on the speaker. The top light flashes a soft red as it searches for a device to connect to.

The TreSound1 paired with my phone and PC with ease. I also had no issues connecting directly. During my test, I did have the connection drop once, but that could’ve been a phone glitch.

You can adjust the volume using the golden knob at the top of the speaker or the volume controls on whatever device you’re connecting to the speaker.

The ambient light around the bottom looks nice. It adds a nice white glow underneath whenever the speakers is on.

Creating an Avalanche of Sound

The Trettitre TreSound1 Bluetooth Speaker has a 360-degree speaker, not just 360-degree sound. The golden trim adds an elegant look to the already piano-polished shine. But looks aside, it’s time to see if the speaker sounds as good as it looks.

I love listening to rock music with heavy bass, but many speakers don’t quite deliver on the bass, especially when you crank up the volume.

My first test was with Spotify, so no hi-fi music just yet. I started at a medium volume and was instantly impressed with how clear the vocals, lead guitar, and bass actually sounded. The speaker did a great job with both the highs and lows, giving me a full, rich sound.

I fully expected the bass to sound distorted or to overpower the rest of the music as I bumped up the volume. The TreSound1 surprised me. I could actually feel the bass in the floor, but there was zero distortion or muffled sounds.

But a wooden speaker designed specifically for hi-fi music should sound good with standard quality music. The real test was seeing if it could deliver on the nuanced sound of hi-fi.

The Hi-Fi Challenge

I tested the same album with average streaming quality and hi-fi, specifically 24bit/96kHz. Unlike some speakers that claim to support hi-fi, there was a noticeable difference in audio quality. While it might not be quite as rich for the pickiest of audiophiles, most will appreciate the clarity of hearing each instrument shine through.

I had the pleasure of enjoying sophisticated audio. Since it was the holiday season during my review, I decided to try out Trans-Siberian Orchestra to see how more complex arrangements sounded. I wasn’t disappointed.

The Trettitre TreSound1 Bluetooth Speaker blew away my usual stereo setup. It sounded the closest to listening in person without all of the screaming fans and clearer sound. The vocals stood out better than ever, even with powerful guitars and orchestra.

Sometimes hi-fi music doesn’t sound like it should with a Bluetooth connection. However, I couldn’t tell a difference between a direct connection and Bluetooth.

I think my only real complaint throughout my tests was how difficult it is to remove a cable. Whether it’s the auxiliary cable or power adapter, it’s hard to pull them out. On the other hand, they’re not going to detach randomly.

Final Thoughts

Does the Trettitre TreSound1 Bluetooth Speaker live up to its mountainous design? Yes. It’s a statement piece that just happens to double as a high-quality speaker. The unique speaker placement gives you actual 360-degree sound, no matter where you move about the room.
