Type Soul: Beginner Progression Guides

Listed below are lists of things that you should do depending on which Race you’ve picked in the Character Creation screen.

What to Do First as a Hollow

If you’ve created a Hollow character, then your overall progression should look like this:

1. Transform from Fishbone to Menos
2. Transform from Menos to either Adjucha (kill one or two either Menos) or Menoscar (rip-off mask)
3. Transform from Adjucha to either Adjucar (rip-off mask) or Vasto Lorde (consume Vasto Lorde boss’s or another Albino Adjucha’s remains)
4. Transform from Vasto Lorde to Vastocar (rip-off mask)
5. Choose Cero Path
6. Obtain Partial Resurrection & Full Resurrection
7. Unlock True Vastocar form.
8. Obtain Segunda Etapa

Out of all the races in Type Soul, picking Hollow gives you the most diverse selection of forms your character can take. Arrancars (i.e. evolved Hollows)

As a beginner Hollow, what you want to do is kill and consume as many Hollows as you can in the early game until you unlock a humanoid Hollow form (i.e. Arrancar), as only then will you be able to equip Arrancar weapons that’ll dramatically boost your performance in combat.

TIP: We highly recommend unlocking Vastocar by waiting until you get your Vasto Lorde form before ripping off your mask, as other Arrancar forms like Menoscar and Adjucar are simply inferior compared to Vastocar.

What to Do First as a Quincy

If you’ve created a Quincy character, then your overall progression should look like this:

1. Complete Mission Board quests until you reach Semi-Grade 1
2. Unlock your Schrift skill at Grade 2
3. Keep on doing Mission board quests and Grip other players until you reach Elite Grade.
4. Unlock Vollständig (Volt) skill
5. Unlock Letzt Stil form
6. Unlock True Letzt Stil form
7. Unlock Heilig Pfeil & Sankt Zwinger

If you fancy ranged attacks and a buff-heavy moveset, then choosing Quincy as your character’s Race would be advisable. After all, Quincies have terrific damage to go along with a skill kit that allows them to either buff or heal themselves or their teammates.

As a beginner Quincy, you’d want to prioritize clearing Mission Board quests until you unlock your Schrift skill. From there, you’ll be able to PK (i.e. player-kill) more effectively, so you may begin completing the tasks required to unlock your Volt and Letzt Stil.

What to Do First as a Shinigami

If you’ve created a Shinigami character, then your overall progression should look like this:

1. Complete Mission Board quests until you reach Grade 3
2. Join a Division, then complete Division Duty quests along with Mission Board quests until you reach Grade 2.
3. Unlock your Shikai by meditating and beating your Shikai boss.
4. Keep doing Division Duty quests, Shikai quests, and Mission Board quests until you reach Elite Rank.
5. Unlock your Bankai.
6. Unlock your Vizard form.
7. Unlock your True Vizard form.
8. Unlock your True Bankai.

Picking Shinigami is the way to go if you prefer a more speedy and combo-centric moveset. Some of the best Speed builds come from the Shinigami race, not to mention they also have pretty solid Hakuda builds.

As a beginner Shinigami, you’ll have to clear Mission Board quests in the early game, then divide your focus between Mission Board, Division Duty, and Shikai quests to be able to progress during the mid to late-game stages.

Type Soul: Five Beginner Tips

Always Interact With NPCs

Even as a new player, you’re going to want to talk to every NPC you see, as most of them either give out quests or can trade items with you—both of which are essential for account growth.

Talking to certain NPCs in Type Soul is even essential for progressing characters (like Kisuke for Shinigami players who want to unlock Bankai), so always make it a priority to interact with NPCs and remember where each of them is located.

Use The Bank (Nelliel) to Store Items

You can interact with an NPC named Neliel who’s lying down on one of the park benches in Karakura Town.

Make sure to remember where she’s located, as interacting with her will allow you to essentially use her as a bank where you can deposit or withdraw items to and from your inventory. 

NOTE: The items stored in your bank are shared by all of your characters. Also, remember to store items that can be dropped upon being killed, like Hogyoku Fragments.

Participate in other Game Modes

There are time-limited events called Faction Raids and Karakura Town (KT) Raids in Type Soul that are occasionally held once every thirty minutes in each server and usually involve PVP, and they are:

• Gladiators (Faction Raid): Defeat all opposing factions in a series of battles until your faction is the only one left in the arena, or be the faction that has the most amount of players left in the arena to achieve victory.
• Conquest (Faction Raid): Capture points A, B, C, and D all over the map to increase your faction’s score. Victory is achieved if your faction’s score reaches 800 or if your faction has the highest score once the timer runs out.
• Art of the Soul (Faction Raid): You must kill every player from the opposing factions to win, or be the faction with the most players left once the timer runs out. All players only have two lives (i.e. one respawn) before they are kicked out.
• Capture the Flag (Karakura Town Raid): All factions are given one point to capture. The first faction that manages to get the point to 100% wins the game.
• Team Deathmatch (Karakura Town Raid): You must kill 30 players from the opposing factions to win, or be the faction with the most amount of kills once the timer runs out.
• King of the Hill (Karakura Town Raid): Capture three flags that are scattered all over the map, or have the most flags once the timer ends to win.

On a related note, there are also Clan Wars that you can participate in to get a handful of useful loot, much like Faction Raids. However, we recommend grinding Grades and practicing combat for a little while before participating in these, as Clan Wars aren’t exactly meant for newbies.

Reroll for Items

In Type Soul, there are various types of Weapons, Elements, Clans, and even Cosmetics that your character can use depending on their race—some of which are rarer than others.

Now, if you want to get lots of Weapon, Element, Cosmetic, or Clan Rerolls, then don’t forget to redeem active Gift Codes for Type Soul, most of which can be found in the Discord server.
