UAE’s Techcos Must Brace for Advanced Future Tech Projects

From advancements in 5G to innovations in deep technologies, we are already entering a “brave new world,” according to tech enthusiasts, and the pace of technological advancement is affecting every aspect of today’s urban life.

In recent news, the UAE will be collaborating with tech mogul, Elon Musk, on a ground-breaking underground Dubai Loop project that will cover the city’s most populated areas. The urban tunnel system will transport commuters from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’ without the hassle of traffic or any other natural interference (such as floods or other external factors) and is an efficient alternative to public transport systems such as metros and buses.

The project will utilize the expertise of Musk’s construction firm, the Boring Company, which has built underground traffic tunnels in California and Las Vegas.

These systems present a solution to rapid urbanization challenges, such as the availability of empty space and congestion build-up, whilst also being economically and sustainably viable.

For such developments to materialize, a robust communication system is required. This warrants the development of extensive fiber networks across both the land and sea domains, along with upgrades to radio equipment. This will increase the capacity and facilitate the management of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, IoT (Internet of Things), and edge workloads across millions of sources.

Techcos in the UAE must prioritize the latest technologies in the urban transport communication domain and produce a skilled workforce to manage these systems, especially in light of the national digital projects that are slated for implementation across the Middle East.
