Verizon Announces 3-Year Price Lock on Some of Its Plans

Verizon has had a lot of price hikes this year. A bit too many for one customer to sit through. The only thing that sort of made it bearable is that the carrier chose to target different services, so most people might only get hit with one increase or none at all. Regardless, it is still a lot of bad press.

Perhaps in an attempt to assuage customers who worry that they might be next on the chopping block of price increases, Verizon has just announced a price lock guarantee for both new and existing customers, though there are some things in fine print that you might want to know about before you do a backflip in joy.

Verizon Guarantees Three-Year Price Lock on myPlan and myHome

Customers don’t like price hikes because there’s no reason customers want to pay more money for the exact same service that they were receiving before. Unfortunately, even though we just left the first quarter of 2025, Verizon has made its subscribers deal with quite a few price hikes already, and needless to say, people aren’t happy about that. Most people feel like it’s only a matter of time before the next hike hits.

Perhaps, in an effort to show that it comes in peace, Verizon has just announced a new three-year price lock guarantee for all of its customers on myPlan and myHome plans. It doesn’t matter whether you sign up for the plan tomorrow or you’ve been with the carrier for ages now; the price that you pay now is the price that you’re going to be paying for the next three years, and there’s a little bit of safety in knowing that.

You don’t need to do anything to take advantage of this. You’ll be enrolled automatically. And what makes it even better is the fact that if you choose to change from one myPlan to another, your price lock will reset and you’ll get another three years locked in. It’s hard to hate on that.

This Price Lock Doesn’t Necessarily Stop Verizon From Raising Prices on Those Plans

If something seems too good to be true, it might be. I’m not going to accuse Verizon of theft before they walk out the door with it, but part of the fine print on this new guarantee raises some eyebrows.

The price lock does not apply to taxes, which makes sense since they’re out of the carrier’s control. But it also doesn’t apply to “fees”. If the carrier gets tired of people paying so little for its services, it can find one fee or another to hik,e and it technically wouldn’t be breaking its guarantee. It’s important to keep that in mind.

Verizon Also Promises Free Phones on Trade-In on any myPlan

Oh, and a little something extra to potentially put a smile on your face. If you’re on any myPlan scheme and you trade in a phone from Apple, Google, or Samsung, no matter the condition, you’ll get a free phone. That’s not a bad deal, and it applies whether you’re a new or old customer.
