visionOS 2.4 now available, bringing Apple Intelligence in tow

Apple Vision Pro gets Apple Intelligence in visionOS 2.4

Apple released visionOS 2.4 on Monday with Apple Intelligence features on Apple Vision Pro, including Writing Tools, Priority Notifications, and Image Playground.

Nine months after Apple revealed Apple Intelligence to the world, it has finally arrived on Apple Vision Pro. The visionOS 2.4 release also includes a new Spatial Gallery app, improvements to Guest Mode, and other bug fixes.

Apple Vision Pro has always had the capability to run Apple Intelligence thanks to the M2 processor, but Apple didn’t prioritize the feature for the platform due to the small install base. Every feature currently available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac has come to Apple Vision Pro at once except for changes to Siri.

Siri can’t call out to ChatGPT, and the animation hasn’t changed. On other devices, a rainbow animation around the edge of the display appears when addressing Siri — it’s still a globe on Apple Vision Pro.

Outside of Apple Intelligence, Apple introduced a pair of new apps that aim to improve discoverability for the platform. On iPhones running iOS 18.4, the Apple Vision Pro app provides access to information on apps, games, and content that can be favorited for later.

On Apple Vision Pro, the Spatial Gallery app collects a range of content that looks great natively on Apple Vision Pro. This includes 3D video captured from iPhones, content previews from within available apps, behind-the-scenes photos and video from MLS and Apple TV+, and panoramic or spatial photos captured on iPhone.

Favoriting content in the Spatial Gallery app brings it up front. If Spatial Gallery content is promoted on the iPhone’s Apple Vision Pro app, favoriting it there shows it first in the headset.

Apple also included new controls for guest mode on iPhone. It is easier to toggle shared display view and manage guest mode without having to instruct the guest user on navigating those menus.

visionOS 2.4 is available now and will download automatically to devices overnight. Users that want to install the update right away can go to Settings, General, and select Software Update.
