If you’ve bought a smartphone in a certain color and wish you’d chosen a brighter colorway, Vivo’s V23 could be the answer with its color-changing rear panel that changes from a bronze color to a bright blue-green finish when exposed to sunlight. Vivo’s new series of phones consist of the V23 and the V23 Pro, both of which sport AMOLED displays with 90Hz refresh rates and high-end MediaTek processors.

Availalbe in Stardust Black, the V23 series can also be had in Sunshine Gold which is the finish that sports color-changing technology on the rear panel. The Sunshine Gold finish will gradually change color when exposed to ultraviolet light (sunlight), shifting from a pink-gold finish to a blue-green gradient before gradually fading back to its original color. The color-changing ability is possible due to the Fluorite AG technology that brings a “velvet-like” surface that is resistant to fingerprints.

Under the hood are MediaTek processors, with the V23 powered by the Dimensity 920 and the V23 Pro by the Dimensity 1200 chipset. There are configurations of 8/128GB and 12/256GB available, and the phones run Funtouch OS 12 (Android 12-based) out of the box.

Both models sport 44W fast-charging with the V23 having a 4,200mAh battery while the larger V23 Pro has slightly more capacity with its 4,300mAh unit.

A dual front-facing camera setup is present on both devices, consisting of a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens for those group selfie shots. On the rear panel of the V23 you’ll find a 64MP main sensor while the V23 Pro has a 108MP main lens (ISOCELL HM2), both of which are accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP dedicated macro camera.

The V23 series is already on sale in India and will launch in other regions such as APAC and Europe in the coming months.
