The team at 91Mobiles has discovered Walmart’s upcoming product listed on the Bluetooth SIG website. The website lists all the products that complete the Bluetooth Qualification Process – an essential step to launch any product with Bluetooth technology commercially.

The listing goes by “Onn 4K Pro Streaming Device,” suggesting that Walmart is adding another streaming device to its portfolio under the Onn brand. There’s already a 4K streaming box on offer from Onn, so the new Pro model would likely bring improvements, new features, or new ports, perhaps.

What Could the New 4K Pro Streaming Device Pack?

The details are scarce, leaving us to imagine what Walmart has in store for its upcoming 4K streaming device. First, the obvious. The Onn 4K Pro would work similarly to the Google Chromecast. You’d get the same user interface as both run on Google TV, and support for Chromecast and Google Assistant will also be there.

Now, coming to what we expect. The upcoming streaming device could offer better performance, courtesy of a better chipset. More RAM and storage capacity could also be in tow, as Onn’s current 4K box ships with just 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

Other features that the current 4K streaming box largely misses out on are support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. If Walmart does bring in Dolby support, it will stand neck to neck with the $50 Chromecast with Google TV 4K. Lastly, more ports could sweeten the deal even further.

The Onn 4K Pro Streaming Device Would Be Affordable, Just Like Its Predecessors

A guess from Onn’s previous models, you can expect Walmart to price the upcoming streaming device at around half that of Google’s offering. Currently, the Onn FHD Streaming Stick undercuts Google Chromecast with Google TV HD’s price by half at $15, while the 4K Streaming Box at $20 makes the price difference with the Chromecast with Google TV 4K even bigger.

However, if the Pro turns out to be a much-premium device, the story would be different altogether. However since Onn is known for affordable products, it is highly unlikely. The launch could be imminent, and we could get to know more details about the Onn 4K Pro Google TV Streaming Device, including its price, pretty soon.
