Apple claims that it redesigned the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro’s internals to accommodate larger batteries and new hardware. But what’s really under the hood, and are these iPhones more repairable than previous models? Find out during iFixit’s teardown livestream.

Our friends at iFixit are ripping apart the new iPhone 13 and 13 Pro in this livestream, which airs September 24th at 1PM EST. Catch it as it’s happening live, or watch the stream after it’s finished airing in the embedded video below.

We hope that the new iPhones are easier to open than previous models, though we’re not optimistic. Apple is reusing the iPhone 12 design for iPhone 13, so screen and battery replacements may remain difficult. For reference, iFixit gave the iPhone 12 a 6/10 repairability score after a teardown last year.

This story is developing. We will update this article once iFixit’s teardown is complete.
