Apple’s recent Saving Simon ad was the brainchild of Oscar nominees Jason Reitman and Ivan Reitman and now a new video shows us how the pair went about creating it.

The new video runs for almost three minutes and shows how the pair used iPhone 13 Pro handsets to create a stunning ad that certainly knows how to tug at the heartstrings. And the fact it was created using the same iPhone 13 Pro that’s in many pockets makes it even more impressive.

    Watch and learn, folks!

Go behind the scenes with Oscar® Nominee Jason Reitman and his father, Oscar® Nominee Ivan Reitman, as they use iPhone 13 Pro and features like Cinematic mode, macro video, and advanced low light performance to create Apple’s latest holiday film, “Saving Simon.”

If there was ever going to be a video that makes people want to bag a bargain iPhone 13 this Black Friday, this is a great example of what that might look like.

The new iPhones have the best cameras ever put into an Apple smartphone and the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro benefit from features like Cinema mode, allowing for a depth-of-field trick that makes videos look like they were created using much more specialist cameras. Rack focus is something most of us had never heard of until the iPhone 13 event — now we’re using it on the daily!

If you’ve yet to see the actual ad, you can fix that right now.
