watchOS 10.4, tvOS 17.4, macOS 14.4 2nd developer betas available

Developers can download the new watchOS beta

Apple’s second developer betas of watchOS 10.4, tvOS 17.4, and macOS 14.4 are now available for testing.

The second watchOS 10.4 developer beta arrives after the first, which Apple brought out on January 29. The second watchOS 10.4 beta has build number 21T5196d, replacing the first one, build number 21T5185g.

The second tvOS 17.4 beta build is number 21L5206f, replacing the first build, number 21L5195h. The second macOS Sonoma 14.4 build is number 23E5191e, replacing the first, 23E5180j.

As well as macOS Sonoma, some earlier versions of macOS are also seeing beta updates. The second release candidates of macOS Monterey 12.7.4 and macOS Ventura 13.6.5 have also been provided for testing, pending release.

So far, it doesn’t appear that there are any notable changes from the previous releases, but back-end updates are almost certain, especially given Apple’s attempts to comply with the EU Digital Markets Act.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly suggest users don’t install beta operating systems or other beta software on “mission-critical” or primary devices, as there is the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should instead use secondary or non-essential hardware and ensure they have sufficient backups of their critical data at all times.
