watchOS 11.5 now available with two new features for Apple Watch

Apple has just released watchOS 11.5, the latest software update for Apple Watch users, and it comes with two new features plus a key bug fix. Here’s what’s new.

New watch face arrives in watchOS 11.5

It’s not often that the Apple Watch gains additional watch faces. Often those debuts are timed around major new OS versions or Apple Watch hardware releases.

But in watchOS 11.5, users will find a new Pride Harmony watch face.

The new face offers a colorful, abstract portrayal of the Pride flag and makes a nice complement to iOS and iPadOS 18.5’s new Pride wallpapers.

If you own an Apple Watch Series 10, Pride Harmony also is one of the only watch faces that can show the seconds hands while the display’s dimmed.

Apple Watch Series 10 introduced an upgraded always-on display that could update more frequently. Unfortunately, most faces don’t support the feature. But watchOS 11.5’s addition becomes the fifth supported face so far.

Beyond the new face, watchOS 11.5 also includes one other new feature and fixes a problematic bug. Per Apple’s release notes:

  • Buy with Apple Watch is available when purchasing content within the Apple TV app on a 3rd party device
  • Resolves an issue that may prevent your iPhone from showing a notification when the watch battery is fully charged

It’s not an especially big update for Apple Watch users, but that’s not surprising since watchOS 12 will be unveiled next month at WWDC.

watchOS 12 rumors indicate new Apple Intelligence features will extend to the Apple Watch alongside some design changes and more.
