Every summer, children in the US can find something constructive to do to keep their minds stimulated and stay productive with Apple. For decades, Apple Camp has been an option for kids and families who want to showcase their digital and creative skills.
But what is Apple Camp about and how does it inspire children’s creativity?
What Is Apple Camp?
Apple Camp is a free annual education and training program for kids aged 8 to 12 and on summer break from school. Each year, participants are given a digital task to complete. Even though the program is aimed at kids, it also accommodates families, so parents and guardians can join in on the fun.
The camp happens at Apple Stores worldwide, where children can engage with experts and learn how to use Apple devices to complete the tasks at hand. Apple Camp runs weekly for several months. In 2022, it ran from June 20 through August 31.
The first Apple Camp was launched in the form of workshops for children and families who bought new computers from Apple stores in 2002. It had run consistently ever since, except for the year 2020, when Apple paused the program due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That year, Apple provided at-home programs instead.
How Apple Camp Inspires Creativity
Every year, participants receive a creative, digital task to do. They are given clear instructions and get Apple gadgets to fulfill the task. This also enlightens them about everything they can do on Apple devices, which gives them more reasons to love Apple products. Apple experts are right there to offer advice, help, and support when needed.
As children undertake the tasks, they also learn from each other and their parents or guardians. Participants are encouraged to draw inspiration from the world around them. The whole point is to show what’s possible when you merge imagination with technology.
tHow to Join Apple Camp
You can go to apple.co/apple-camp to learn more about Apple Camp and sign up for a session for you and your child.
To sign up, click on Choose a location. From here, you can click on Use my current location to find stores near you. Alternatively, you can find stores manually by clicking on the dropdown lists under Find by Apple Store to choose your country, state, and store location.
Check the Include nearby stores box to see all available sessions for participating stores in the area. When you’re done, click the Apply button at the bottom. You will now be shown the upcoming Apple Camp session in the store you’ve chosen. Click on Details to get more information about the event.
On the next page, you’ll see the date, time, and location of the upcoming session, as well as the total number of sessions available in the area you’ve chosen. To see dates and information for all other available sessions in the area, click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the card. To change your location and view sessions in other areas, click on the location hyperlink at the top.
You can also check how close the event is to where you are by clicking on Get directions toward the bottom. When you’re happy, click the Sign up button at the bottom. Now enter your email address and click on the arrow in the space provided. You can also sign up with your Apple ID. Forgot your password? Learn how to reset your Apple ID password to create a new one.
Fill in the rest of the fields and click on Submit. That’s it.
You can manage your booking from your emails. Want your friends to join you at Apple Camp? You can share the event with them, so they can also sign up. To do this, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Spread the word. Now choose the method you want to use from the options available.
