The Realme GT 6 and Honor 200 Pro have similarly sized curved AMOLED displays at 6.78 inches. Both displays boast a 120Hz refresh rate, but the Realme GT 6 has an LTPO panel, meaning it can go down to 1Hz when viewing static content to save battery.

The Realme GT 6 has a peak brightness of 6,000 nits while the Honor 200 Pro’s peak brightness touches 4,000 nits. Realme claims its display is the brightest display on a smartphone, and the Honor is just behind. That said, these are just peak brightness numbers, and with regular usage, they’re similar to other flagship smartphones.

Moreover, both smartphones come HDR 10 and Widevine L1 DMR certified, so you can stream HDR content on apps like Netflix, YouTube, etc. The Realme GT 6 also supports Dolby Vision for an enhanced viewing experience and gets Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to help the phone resist scratches and survive minor drops. Hence, the Realme phone secures a win here.

Design

Design-wise, both the Realme GT 6 and the Honor 200 Pro stand out from other offerings in the market. The backs are curved from the sides, making them comfortable to hold in your hands.

Talking about the Realme phone first, it features a combo of mirror and matte finishes at the back, which looks stylish. The camera placement somewhat resembles the recent iPhones, but only the lenses protrude out. The phone is available in Razor Green and Fluid Silver options.

The Honor 200 Pro, in contrast, takes a different approach with a vertical oval-shaped camera layout housing the lenses and the flash. The overall design, in my opinion, is better than the Realme GT 6. But since design is a personal preference, you don’t have to agree with this. It comes in Moonlight White, Black, and Ocean Cyan colorways. The Ocean Cyan color is my personal favorite, and it’s available exclusively on honor.com.

The camera battle is interesting. Though the Realme GT 6 and the Honor 200 Pro house a 50 MP primary lens, they’re from different makers. The GT 6 gets the Sony LYT-808, which we saw on the OnePlus 12 recently. The 200 Pro, on the other hand, utilizes the Super Dynamic H9000 lens, which is on the flagship Magic6 Pro as well. The former has an f/1.7 aperture and 1/1.4” sensor size, while the latter has an f/1.9 aperture and 1/1.3” size, and both feature OIS and PDAF.

For telephoto, both mobiles use 50MP sensors with PDAF and OIS; the Honor phone features a Sony IMX856 sensor, while the Realme phone uses the Samsung ISOCELL JN5. Then there’s an ultrawide lens on each phone: a 12MP unit on the Honor and 8MP on the Realme.

Now let’s keep the specs aside and talk about how these smartphones perform. Both the Realme GT 6 and Honor 200 Pro take exceptional photos, which you can also compare to some flagships out there. They can capture 4K videos at 60fps from the main camera and telephoto, and the video quality is also pretty good.

The Honor 200 Pro is slightly better at shooting portraits, as the brand has collaborated with Studio Harcourt in Paris for custom portrait filters. The wide-angle lens on the phone is also better than Realme’s offering. Realme performs better at night, though.

For selfies, you’ll find the Honor 200 Pro’s 50MP camera better than the Realme GT 6’s 32MP. Both are capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. Overall, the Honor 200 Pro performs better and secures a win in this round.

Software

The Realme GT 6 runs Realme UI 5.0 and the Honor 200 Pro runs MagicOS 8 – both based on Android 14. Talking about the Realme GT 6 first, the new Realme UI 5.0 is slightly akin to OnePlus’s OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS. It also gets new AI features like AI Smart Loop, AI Smart Removal, Screen Recognition, and more.

AI Smart Loop lets you send text or images from your screen to another app. For example, selecting the name of a place from anywhere on the screen and opening it with Google Maps. The AI Smart Removal is Realme’s version of Magic Eraser, and Screen Recognition allows you to identify the content on your screen.

Since Honor is now a separate brand from Huawei, the Honor 200 Pro includes all Google apps and services. The MagicOS 8 also boasts AI features similar to the Realme UI. The Magic Portal feature works like Realme’s AI Smart Loop, allowing you to drag and drop text or images from the screen to another app.

Then there is Magic Capsule, inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island. The phone also supports air gestures from the front camera, allowing you to perform certain actions like scrolling, grabbing screenshots, swiping, etc., using your hand.

Honor has promised four years of OS upgrades and five years of security patches. Realme, in contrast, would offer you three major OS updates and security patches for four years. Hence, Honor wins this round, too.

Performance

Talking about performance, both Realme GT 6 and Honor 200 Pro will seem similar to you, spec-wise. They’re powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. It’s a cut-down version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 but offers sufficient performance for your gaming needs or other demanding tasks. This chip is comparable to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in terms of performance but offers better efficiency.

That said, Realme has tuned the chipset slightly better for its phone, as the Realme GT 6 scores higher than the Honor 200 Pro on most benchmark platforms. Also, the latter is available as a single memory option in most countries: 16+512GB. The GT 6, in contrast, is available in 8+256GB, 12+256GB, and 16+512GB variants.

Battery and Charging

Realme’s GT 6 ships with a 5,500 mAh battery and supports 120W SUPERVOOC charging. The company claims that it can charge from 0 to 50% in just 10 mins, and to 100% in 28 mins. The phone misses out on wireless charging.

In contrast, Honor’s 200 Pro gets a 5,200 mAh battery which supports 100W SuperCharge charging. It can go up to 60% in just 15 mins, and 100% in 41 mins, says Honor. Besides, the phone also supports 66W wireless charging, which juices up the phone to 64% in 30 mins. 5W reverse wired charging and reverse wireless charging are also part of the package.

We’ll have to call this round a draw, as each phone has something the other doesn’t. The Realme phone charges a bit faster, but the Honor phone supports wireless charging. It’s up to you which of the two you prefer.

Other Features

Both the Realme GT 6 and Honor 200 Pro are IP65 certified, making them resistant to dust and water splashes. The phones also feature dual stereo speakers, NFC, IR blaster, and better antenna connectivity.

Which One Should You Get?

The answer to this question isn’t easy. Even if one phone shines more than the other in a particular department, the difference is just marginal. The Realme GT 6 offers a brighter display with Dolby Vision support, faster wired charging, and slightly better performance. You also get the freedom to choose from multiple storage options, depending on your budget.

The Honor 200 Pro, on the other hand, provides an overall better camera setup, an additional year of OS updates and security patches, and support for super-fast wireless charging. Your decision can also come down to your budget or the availability of the phone. The lower storage variants of the Realme GT 6 are more affordable than the Honor 200 Pro, and the Realme GT 6 is more widely available.

The 8+256GB variant of the Realme GT 6 costs €599 ($642), the 12+256GB costs €699 ($750), and the 16+512GB version is priced at €799 ($857). The Honor 200 Pro‘s single variant is available for £699 ($887) or €799 ($857), depending on your country. So, which phone are you getting?
