New-model-year TVs often come out in March or April. Previously we’ve seen July discounts on such models, including the LG C3, our runner-up OLED TV, but you should expect these discounts to be smaller. If you want a more substantial discount on a newer-model-year offering, you may be better off waiting for October and November, when pre–Black Friday sales launch. As with all deal events, we advise caution around the real “blowout” bargain-bin TVs—they rarely measure up.
