Mobile World Congress 2022 has officially wrapped up and, while we weren’t able to take part on the show floor this year, there were a ton of great announcemenets. Lenovo and Huawei, in particular, showed up in force with a peek at their upcoming laptop slates for 2022. It may be a few weeks or months before we start seeing these laptops hit the market, but it’s a fun look at what lies ahead.
While MWC 2022 may be over, we wanted to share our picks for the products that caught our eye from the show. Here’s a look at our MWC 2022 award winners, as chosen by the Windows Central staff.
Best of MWC 2022
Best Overall PC
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme (Gen 5)
The X1 Extreme is Lenovo’s answer to Dell’s XPS 15 laptop. It’s a powerful rig with 12th Gen H-series processors and up to RTX 3080 Ti graphics, along with that famed Lenovo keyboard and TrackPoint. You still get the taller 16:10 display, but there’s a non-touch option now. Rounding out specs for performance is new DDR5 RAM (up to 64GB), a 90WHr battery, and up to 8TB of PCIe 4.0 storage thanks to the dual SSD slots. You’ll have to wait until June 2022 to get one, and the pricing starts at $2,049.
Best 2-in-1 PC
Lenovo ThinkBook Yoga 14s (Gen 4)
The ThinkBook Yoga 14s Gen 4 brings mid-range pricing to Lenovo’s more modern looks. For Gen 4, Lenovo gives Intel 12th-Gen chips, up to 40GB RAM, integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, and support for two SSDs up to 1TB in storage, all in a clean and minimalist dual-tone design. The 360-hinge and Lenovo pen ensure you’ll make the most out of Windows 11 without breaking the bank since pricing starts at $850.
