Worry About One Less App; Apple TV+ Content Coming To Prime Video

We live in a world with a lot of major streaming services. There’s Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, Max, Apple TV+, and more, with each one boasting exclusive content to attempt to force you to subscribe to them if you want to watch what only they have.

However, even if you have the money for more than one of these streaming services, it can be annoying to have multiple streaming apps installed on your smartphone or television. A new deal between Amazon and Apple is about to give you one less, as Apple TV+ comes to the Prime Video app as an add-on.

You Can Now Get The Apple TV+ Add-On In Amazon’s Prime Video App, Saving You A Little Space

I might be in the minority here, but I like having a smartphone that has as few apps as possible. If I notice there’s an app that I haven’t used in ages and probably can’t see myself using anytime soon, I like to get rid of it. There’s nothing better to me than freeing up that extra space, no matter how little it might be. There’s a reason I’m saying all of this though.

I use Prime Video but not Apple TV+, but if I did, I’d certainly be happy about the new development that has just been announced by Amazon. Instead of bothering with the Apple TV application on whichever smart devices you have, you can watch that content straight from the Prime Video app instead, turning it into something of a content hub.

I personally can’t think of any major advantage to this besides saving you from having one extra application on your device, but I guess a less cluttered device is certainly a benefit in its own right. I’d also reckon that having it on the doorstep of people who already indulge in Prime Video might make it quite a bit more tempting to give a test run.

The Apple TV+ Add-On Will Set You Back By $9.99 Each Month

If you want to start watching some of the exclusive content that only Apple can give you, such as Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, and Severance, you’re going to need to pay for a subscription; whether you’re watching that content on the Prime Video app or not.

The Apple TV+ add-on will cost you $9.99 every month, without any hidden fees or charges. However, that’s the exact same price for standalone Apple TV+, so there isn’t a financial advantage to choosing to get it as an add-on or a separate subscription. Keep that in mind.

At the moment, this add-on is not available, but it will be later this month, though there’s no specific date mentioned at this time.

If this sounds like something exciting to you but you don’t happen to live in the United States, worry not. Amazon seems to have plans to bring this collaboration to additional territories, though at the moment, the specified ones aren’t sure.

Would you be more likely to try out Apple TV+ as an add-on to a streaming app you already use? Let us know in the comments.
