Xiaomi Unveils Pad 7 Pro Alongside a New Watch and Smart Band

Mobile World Congress 2025 has commenced in Barcelona, and one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, Xiaomi, was there. At a launch event, the company decided to launch its Xiaomi 15 series globally, but that wasn’t all it had for us.

A new set of Xiaomi tablets has just burst onto the global scene: the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro. The company has also unveiled a bunch of new wearable devices, including the Xiaomi Watch S4 and the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro. Let’s dive into things.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro Is for Those Who Take Mobile Productivity Super Seriously

If you’re an Android tablet lover, it’s hard to imagine that you won’t love the Xiaomi Pad 7 series. These are two tablets that take things seriously, and while they’re similar enough in terms of design, the Pro model brings enough to justify its existence.

The Design

There’s nothing crazy about how the Xiaomi Pad 7 series is designed. Both tablets are nearly identical, with a rectangular build, slightly rounded corners, a flat display, a flat aluminum back, and flat sides. It’s a very simple look. The camera module sits in the upper-left corner of the back panel.

The tablets weigh exactly 500 grams and are just 6.18mm thick. That means taking them around with you is far from tough. Both devices are available in Blue, Black, and Green.

The Screen

Both devices share a similar IPS LCD display, with an 11.2-inch diagonal, 800-nit peak brightness, 2136 x 3200 resolution, and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10. You also get a 144Hz maximum refresh rate. The viewing experience on this is bound to be great.

If you hate glare on your screen, the Pad 7 Pro’s top storage configuration is also available in a Matte Glass Version, though it’ll cost you more.

The Hardware

This is one place where the model that you choose makes a difference. The Xiaomi Pad 7 opts for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, a very solid mid-range chip that should have you back in most regards. However, for those who want more power than that, you can opt for the Pad 7 Pro, which comes with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It’s an “almost flagship” chip, so it should be able to handle nearly everything that most people will try.

The Xiaomi Pad 7 comes with 8GB of RAM and has 128GB and 256GB storage options. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro starts from where the regular model stops, with 8/256GB being the base model and 12/512GB being the higher-end option. All models use UFS 4.0 storage, with the exception of the 128GB Pad 7.

Both tablets have Bluetooth 5.4, an infrared port, stereo speakers, and USB Type-C 3.2. While the Pad 7 has Wi-Fi 6e support, the Pad 7 Pro pushes that to Wi-Fi 7 and also brings a side-mounted fingerprint reader along.

The Battery and Charging

The tablets share a large 8,850mAh battery. You’ll be able to charge the Pad 7 at 45W but the Pad 7 Pro gets faster 67W fast charging (which should take you to 40% in just 20 minutes).

The Cameras

Most people don’t buy tablets for their cameras, but that’s perhaps the one region where these phones are drastically different.

The Pad 7 has one 13MP camera on the rear and opts for an 8MP selfie unit. The Pad 7 Pro not only upgrades the rear camera to 50MP but throws in a 2MP depth sensor. On the front side, you’ll find a 32MP camera. Both can record in 4K, but the Pad 7 is limited to 30fps, while the Pro model is capable of 60fps.

The Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Pad 7 will start at £369 in the UK, and the Pad 7 Pro’s base price will be £449. If you want the Matte Glass version of the latter, you’ll need to pay £549, though that’s in the 12/512GB configuration. The devices will also be available in other European markets.

Xiaomi has also introduced the Watch S4 and the Smart Band 9 Pro for those who are big fans of wearables and fitness tracking.

Xiaomi Watch S4

The Xiaomi Watch S4 is as beautiful as it is functional. The watch comes with a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. In high-brightness mode, the screen climbs to 1,500 nits, which is plenty bright on the sunniest of days. Xiaomi also claims that you’ll get up to 15 days of battery life.

One of the coolest things about the watch is that not only can you change the strap, but you can change the bezel as well, which makes it possible to make the watch look entirely new in a few seconds.

You get the capability for heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and sleep monitoring, as well as over 150 different sports modes to make sure you track your fitness perfectly each time. The Xiaomi Watch S4 will be available at a starting price of £129.99.

Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro

For those who want something that’s simpler, the Smart Band 9 Pro will do a good job. The Smart Band has been around, but Xiaomi has just introduced an elegant new Cream White colorway. It’s not much of a band; it’s going for an Apple Watch sort of build, with a rectangular screen with 336 x 480 resolution and 1,200 nits of brightness.

The battery inside this is 350mAh, but with that, you get 21 days of battery life. That’s perfect for those who solely want a fitness tracker with a limited amount of additional features. It’ll help you track a number of health metrics, including heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress. It also gains a compass function compared to the previous model. The Smart Band 9 Pro in Cream White will be available at £72.99.
