Valve has officially released a limited-edition white Steam Deck nearly three years after initially teasing the concept. The new model is officially called the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White.
The white Steam Deck has the same specifications as the standard 1TB OLED model, including a 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display, a 6nm APU, Wi-Fi 6E, a 50Whr battery, and a 45W power supply. The primary difference is the color scheme, with the white Steam Deck featuring white and gray accents. It also comes bundled with an exclusive white carrying case and white microfiber cleaning cloth. Despite the exclusive design, the price of the white Steam Deck is only $30 more than the standard 1TB OLED model, retailing for $679. That’s a pretty good deal.
While Valve has allotted stock proportionally across each region, the white Steam Deck is a limited-edition release and will not be restocked once sold out. Purchases will be restricted to one unit per account to make sure there’s fair distribution. Accounts must also have made a previous Steam purchase before November 2024 and be in good standing to be eligible. While this will not cut scalping entirely, this is a great way to help fight it. Even still, prospective buyers should try to buy one as soon as possible to make sure they can get one before they sell out.
The white Steam Deck will be sold in all regions where the handheld is currently available, including Australia and various regions of Asia. The limited-edition white model can be purchased from the Komodo website for $679; to put that into perspective, a black Steam Deck with the same specs costs $649. It will be available for purchase starting November 18, 2024, at 3PM PT / 6PM ET.
