You can watch Apple Original Films’ ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ in IMAX for free on December 5

Apple Originals and A24 have announced that a special, free screening of the upcoming Apple TV+ outing The Tragedy of Macbeth will be available to watch for free at select North American IMAX theaters on December 5.

The movie, which stars Denzel Washington as Lord Macbeth and Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth, will also be followed by a live Q&A with Joel Coen and Frances McDormand according to a Variety report.

The Tragedy of Macbeth is shot entirely in black and white and follows a story many of us read in school — but this one has Denzel Washington so should be even better!

Shot in black-and-white, Coen’s take on the Scottish Play stars Denzel Washington as Lord Macbeth and McDormand as Lady Macbeth. As in the source material, the film follows the couple’s murderous ploys for power over Scotland and their resulting descent into madness.

The new movie will be available as a general theatrical release on December 25 while Apple TV+ fans can watch from January 14, 2022. While it’s fair to say that The Tragedy of Macbeth won’t be for everyone, it’s great to see Apple TV+ gaining a wide breadth of content beyond hit shows like The Morning Show and Ted Lasso.
