The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Gets Better Almost Nowhere
2024 is the year of the Z Fold facelift and it’s been much needed, as I personally think that Samsung’s flagship foldable has a relatively basic design. The new S24 Ultra-esque hits the modern notes a lot better than the Z Fold 5 did. With a facelift, you’d expect some major improvements on the spec sheet, but unfortunately, there’s not much to do a backflip about.
Thanks to the guys over at Smartprix, we have a look at almost all the specifications for the upcoming Z Fold 6, and quite frankly, it’s disappointing.

The screen has the same diagonal, but the aspect ratio on both the cover and inner displays change just a tad with the new design; that’s expected. Another expected thing is a newer chip. The storage options stay the same and so do all the cameras, at least on paper. The battery also stays stagnant at 4,400 mAh, but there’s no news on charging speed (I expect it to stay at 25W). S Pen support doesn’t go anywhere at least.
The biggest update is the new design and the phone gets lighter and thinner with the redesign. Apparently, Samsung thinks that’s worth the rumored $100 price increase over last year. Yep, the device is expected to start at $1,900, with the higher-specced models breaking the $2,000 barrier.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Looks A Better Upgrade, Though Not By Much
The Z Flip 6 is Samsung’s less popular option (at least by my own count in the wild) but it seems in terms of upgrades, it’s getting a better deal than the Z Fold 6, which really doesn’t improve in any substantial manner. This phone doesn’t get a major design change, so that’s a bit of a bummer, but its design wasn’t too bad to start with.
Again, kudos to the people at Smartprix for letting us all in on this leak of the Z Flip 6’s specs.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 brings very few major upgrades, but it still brings more than the Z Fold 6 does. You get the expected new Snapdragon chip, a significant improvement to the main camera (same as the S24 series and the Z Fold 6 apparently), and a 300 mAh boost on the battery. Unfortunately, Samsung is going to be charging a $100 increase over last year, making the device start at $1,099.
Again, I don’t know whether there’s enough to justify that price hike, but it certainly makes a better case for itself than the other model does.
